Vcashpoint   Grants of up to £2,500 for young people setting up community projects with a London 2012 theme. Apply by 6 September 2010. England only.

Peppa Pig's Summer Adventure Competition   Parents and children's centre staff are invoted to submit photos of children aged 5 or under on an adventure with a cut-out of Peppa Pig. Winners receive a load of Peppa goodies. Enter by 10 September 2010.

REACH Community Engagement Fund   £500 grants to help black male role models inspire black boys and young men. Apply by 10 September 2010.

Young Researcher Network grants programme   Up to £3,000 for organisations working with young people to complete a short research project. Apply by 10 September 2010.

National Leaving Care 'Keep Dreaming' Awards 2010   Fifteen awards for individual care leavers, professionals, carers, supportive leaving care teams and exceptional applicants. Nominate by 10 September 2010.

Awards for Bridging Cultures   Three categories celebrating intercultural dialogue. Prizes include cash up to £10,000 and video equipment. Apply by 13 September 2010.

Tell Us TV competition   7 to 19 year olds attending youth clubs, summer schemes and activity clubs are invited to make a 90 second video about why culture and the arts are important to them. Prizes include HD camcorders. Apply by 14 September 2010.

Philip Lawrence Awards 2010   Celebrating young people who are tackling issues and improving communities. Ten national winners will receive £1000 to spend on their projects. Enter by 15 September 2010.

CSW Sport Physical Activity Small Grants Scheme   Up to £2,000 to not-for-profit organisations for projects in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire that encourage people to become more physically active. Apply by 17 September 2010.

NCVYS Young Partners Award 2010   Five regional categories rewarding voluntary and community projects that involve young people in decision making. Prizes include grants and activity days. Apply by 17 September 2010.

Bike Club grants   Up to £2,000 for various capital costs including hiring freelance cycle instructors. The next deadline is 20 September 2010.

Music for Youth Schools Competition   Win a class trip to the Proms and school visits from professional music mentors. Applications are particularly encouraged from schools in the early stages of developing musical activities. Apply by 20 September 2010.

Youth Opportunity Fund   Up to £18,000 for youth projects in the London borough of Lambeth. Apply between 23 August and 27 September 2010.

Ford Britain Trust   Grants of up to £3,000 for projects that benefit communities close to Ford locations. Apply by 28 September 2010.

eLearning Awards 2010   International awards showcasing the use of ICT in education. 42 categories. Cash and ICT equipment to be won, as well as flights to Copenhagen awards ceremony. Apply by 28 September 2010.

Cracking the Code Bursary Scheme   Up to £500 for small organisations to improve their governance in accordance with the Good Governance code. England only. Apply by 30 September 2010.

Young Achievers Awards 2010  Eight categories recognising inspirational young people who’ve made a difference through their volunteer efforts, in the arts, community, environment and sport. Up to £1,000 to be won in each category. England only. Nominate by 30 September 2010.

European Youth Foundation   Grants for projects and networks that benefit young people. Apply by 1 October 2010.

Northamptonshire Community Foundation Grants   Up to £2,000 for small, local groups in Northamptonshire for new or ongoing project activity that benefits the community in some way. Apply by 8 October 2010.

U-News/Clic Competition   Young people in Wales aged 7 to 25 are invited to become journalists and report on something related to children, teenagers or young adults in their school or community to counter the often negative views of young people represented in the media. Prizes include an iPad, cameras, and a chance to shadow a professional news editor. Wales only. Enter by 8 October 2010.

Stratford-upon-Avon Town Trust   Grants between £2,500 and £100,000 for charitable causes which benefit people who live in Stratford-upon-Avon. Apply by 22 October 2010.

UK-German Connection Challenge Fund   Up to £5,000 for collaborative projects between schools in the UK and Germany. Apply by 31 October 2010.

Help a London Child 2010   Up to £3,000 to help children and young people who experience poverty, crime or disadvantage. London only. Apply by 3 November 2010.

Development Education Fund   Between £3,000 and £10,000 for charities based in England and Wales that are involved in global justice work and linked to either CAFOD or the Catholic community. Apply by 30 November 2010.

Evening Standard Fund for The Dispossessed   London-based voluntary and community groups are invited to apply for grants of between £250 and £5000. Grants otained must be used by 31 March 2011. London only.

Grassroots Grants   The Community Development Foundation is offering grants of up to £5,000 for volunteer-led community projects. Apply by March 2011.

National

Awards for All   The Big Lottery Fund's small grants scheme runs separate programmes in each UK country offering thousands of pounds to community groups and other worthwhile causes.

Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Awards   Five monthly prizes of £1,000 for people aged 16 to 30 who need funding to get innovative or unusual projects off the ground.

Tesco Charity Trust   Two different schemes, one offering up to £25,000, for community projects that support children.

The Tudor Trust   Supports people and organisations working to achieve lasting change in their communities.

Young Roots   Grants from between £3,000 and £25,000 for projects that engage young people aged 13 to 25 with their heritage to develop skills, confidence and a connection to their communities.

Think Big   O2's new initiative offering to help fund and train young people who want to make projects that benefit their community.

Playwork Level 3 training fund   The Children's Plan is providing fully-funded training for 4,000 playworkers to achieve Level 3 qualifications by 2011.

ACT Foundation   Grants between £100 and £4 million for organisations that work to enhance the life of people in need.

Youth Music funding   A range of funding programmes for music activities outside of school hours. Apply any time but there are four open grant deadlines for the next year: 10 May 2010, 10 September 2010, 10 December 2010, 10 March 2011.

Speak Out challenges   Monthly online prizes and cash prizes for schools that set up their own speaking clubs.

Young Film Fund - First Light   Grants of up to £30,000 to enable young people to participate in all aspects of film production.

Jack Petchey Achievement Awards Scheme   Three schemes with several annual prizes. Winning pupils get to decide how to spend the award money on their school.

BBC Children in Need grants programme   This is open to organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people who are 18 years old and under. Organisations and projects must be based in the UK and must be registered charities or other not-for-profit organisations. Four general grants deadlines each year: 15 January, 15 April, 15 July, 15 October.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation   A variety of different grants and funding schemes on offer to innovative projects that focus on increasing education and learning opportunities.

Football Foundation grants   Six different grant schemes that are designed to encourage communities to get involved with football.

The Rayne Foundation   Funding for activities that achieve learning outcomes through art or develop numeracy skills.

The Hedley Foundation   Up to £5,000 for charities that further the education, recreation, support, training, health and welfare of young people.

Reaching Communities, England   Funding available: £10,000 to £500,000; funding for projects that help those most in need and improve the quality of life in communities across England.

Esmee Fairburn Foundation   Grants of up to £250,000 for activities that improve education and learning as well as increase participation of disdvantaged people.

Mediabox funding   Up to £40,000 for creative projects involving 13-19 year olds using print, television, film, radio or online platforms.

UnLtd Sport Relief Awards   Apply for up to £10,000 at any time. Awards are for young people who want to use sport or the arts to address social problems or conflict within their communities.

The Fidelio Charitable Trust   Funding of up to £5,000 for arts projects, in particular dramatic and operatic arts, speech and dance.

Sylvia Waddilove Foundation UK   Up to £10,000 for projects relating to education, music composition and performances, herbal medicine, medical research, disability, the assistance of the elderly and farming.

Mothercare Group Foundation   Grants for projects that help babies, new and expecting mothers, and families.

J Paul Getty Jnr Charitable Trust   Funds for social welfare, arts and heritage. Particular focus on helping the disadvantaged.

Comic Relief grants programmes   Applications invited from the voluntary and community sector throughout the UK including constituted voluntary and community groups, charities, social enterprises, co-operatives, faith organisations, and community interest companies. There is no minimum or maximum grant in most of the programmes.

Sport England small grants programme   Supports local community projects which seek to increase participation, sustain participation or develop opportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport. Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are available.

The Clothworkers' Foundation   Two grants programmes that offer to cover capital costs for UK registered charities that help the disadvantaged.

The Links Foundation   Grants for projects that tackle social exclusion and poverty, as well as advance people's education.

The Dulverton Trust   Varied grants for UK-based charities that work with youth and in education.

Lawrence Atwell's Charity   Grants to help young people get into work and free themselves from disadvantage.

The Mark Leonard Trust   Funds for environmental education for children and young people, and for youth work that supports the rehabilitation of young offenders.

Co-op Group Community Dividend Fund   Community and voluntary groups as well as charities are able to apply for funding of between £100 and £5,000. Eligible projects must be in England or Wales and benefit a local community in which at least one Co-operative group business trades.

Veolia Environmental Trust   Up to £150,000 for community and environmental projects near facilities operated by Veolia.

WHSmith Trust   Grants of up to £60,000 to support education and lifelong learning.

Funding for uniforms  The Education Minister, Jane Hutt, has made available £770,000 in 2009 and 2010 to help families in Wales who are on low incomes with the purchase of school uniforms for their children. The funding will provide a grant of £100 to eligible families.

Lloyds TSB Foundation   Grants for community projects and for schemes that rehabilitate young offenders. England and Wales only.

Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland   Grants fund of £2 million for improving the quality of life for people in Scotland who are disadvantaged or at risk of becoming disadvantaged.

Cattanach Charitable Trust   Grants of up to £10,000 for small projects in Scotland that improve the lives of children, preferably under-10s.

Yapp Charitable Trust   Grants for activities that improve the education and lives of the disadvantaged.

 

Regional

The Wates Foundation   Grants of up to £30,000 for helping communities and the environment. Berkshire, Bristol, Avon & Somerset, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Middlesex, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Sussex and Greater London only.

The Children's Foundation   Up to £1,000 for community projects that benefit children and young people. North East only.

Small Sparks Fund   Up to £500 to community groups for activities or services that support local people and communities. Lancashire only.

Wash Fens Rural Development Programme   Up to £150,000 for micro businesses, farm businesses, tourism organisations and third sector organisations for projects that bring economic, environmental and other benefits to Boston and South Holland. South East Lincolnshire only.

The Bryant Trust   Up to £3,000 for projects with a Birmingham connection. West Midlands only.

Liverpool One Foundation Grant   Up to £10,000 towards Merseyside projects that advance young people's education and skills or improve community life.

South Holland Community Grants   Various funding options for community groups around Spalding. Lincolnshire only.

Supporting Young People Fund   Up to £10,000 for projects that enable young people aged 13-19 to engage in positive activities and reach a positive destination. Central Bedfordshire and Bedford borough areas only.

Youth Capital Fund   Up to £50,000 for youth-led community projects. Nottingham only.

Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw Grants   Up to £250 for young people's organisations or individual young people who live in the Bassetlaw district. Nottinghamshire only.

Grants and Funding - Kirklees   A range of grants available for community projects, childcare providers and more. Kirklees, Yorkshire only.

Shepherd Street Trust   Up to £2,000 for projects that support young people under the age of 21. Preston, Lancashire only.

CNL Young People's Fund   Up to £10,000 available to groups that help disadvantaged young people. Northumberland only.

GAME Group UK Fund  Twenty grants of £250 for projects that benefit young people in Basingstoke.

Portsmouth Green Travel Grant   Up to £5,000 to encourage people to use their cars less and cut emissions. Portsmouth only.

The City Bridge Trust   A trust granting in excess of £17 million a year to charitable projects that address disadvantage and benefit the inhabitants of Greater London.

John Cass Foundation   Varied grants for organisations that benefit children or young people under the age of 25 who are permanent residents of inner London boroughs and from disadvantaged backgrounds or areas of high deprivation.

John Lyon's Charity   Provides grants to a broad range of charities working for the benefit of children and young people residing in nine London boroughs.

Capital Community Foundation   Up to £7,500 for projects that promote inclusion and provide art, cultural and sports activities. London only.

The Peter Minet Trust   Offers grants to registered charities, community projects and other organisations that focus on social welfare and improvement in community life. Works mainly in South East London, particularly Lambeth and Southwark.

Sir Walter St John's Educational Charity   Grants of up to £5,000 to support educational projects undertaken by schools, colleges, youth groups and voluntary organisations. Funding is only available for projects in the London boroughs of Wandsworth and Lambeth.

St Katherine and Shadwell Award   Grants for education and training for young people and children, as well as activities that promote social cohesion. Tower Hamlets, Hackney and City of London only.

William Shelton Educational Charity   Grants to fund Christian education projects. London boroughs of Westminster and Camden only
