Campaign: Visit Our Schools and Colleges week If the schools in your clusters don’t have partnerships with businesses and want them, but aren’t sure where to start – here's their chance. This campaign, run by The Education and Employers Taskforce, an independent charity, aims is to urge business leaders to visit schools and colleges between 18 and 22 October 2010 so that bosses from private and public sector organisations opportunities can hear first-hand from headteachers, teachers and students, and explore how employers can actively help boost young people’s motivation, skills, achievement and employability. It’s free to get involved and registration details are at www.visitourschools.org or www.visitourcolleges.org. Teaching unions, school and college leadership bodies, the British Chambers of Commerce, Confederation of British Industry, Federation of Small Business, Institute of Directors and Trades Union Congress back the campaign and some big-hitters have already signed up for visits, including film-maker Lord David Puttnam, Sir Mike Rake, chairman of BT, Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of global advertising agency WPP, Robert Peston, BBC Business Editor and Sam Laidlaw, CEO of Centrica.
