Food for Life Partnership   This is a network of schools and communities which aims to change food culture in schools and communties and increasing the level of skills to grow and cook locally grown, seasonal food. 

What works in combating childhood obesity   An anthology of the literature on effective whole-system approaches published by C4EO looks at eighteen reports about multi-agency obesity interventions published between 2003 and 2010. Extra-currricular (before and after-school) interventions are pivotal to the collection and all the interventions focused on diet, physical activity or a combination of both. They took varying approaches (some ‘top-down’, others prescriptive, and some more participatory, involving schools and community settings). It's worth noting that the successful programmes included in the anthology combined healthy eathing with physical activity.

Teenagers eat breakfast too   An article by Eleanore Moore about setting up breakfast clubs for teenagers - not the easiest group to entice towards a bowl of health cereal at the start of the day.

Breakfast Movers   This Breakfast Movers Essential Guide complements the resource pack Breakfast Club Plus (see below). It offers advice about setting up and running a ‘Breakfast Movers’ club, where members take part in physical activity in addition to enjoying a healthy breakfast.

Nutritional guidelines for breakfast clubs   Kellogg's, ContinYou and other partners have developed a comprehensive nutritional guide to support schools and community-based settings in England that are running breakfast clubs.

Eat Better, Do Better   A practical guide to adopting a Whole School Approach to food in special schools

Bike Club   A national organisation that promotes and implements all sorts of cycling activities to get kids and other groups out riding on two wheels.

Tam Fry fronts up to the fryers   As spokesman for the national obesity forum and founder of the child growth foundation, Tam advises headteachers on how to promote  healthy eating with the House of Munch.

Children’s National Service Framework (NSF)    A ten-year programme intended to stimulate long-term and sustained improvement in children's health. It is intended to lead to a cultural shift, resulting in services being designed and delivered around the needs of children and families.

Fair Society, Healthy Lives   In November 2008, Professor Sir Michael Marmot’s review, Fair Society, Healthy Lives, has proposed what the review panel considers to be the most effective policies and interventions for addressing the social determinants of health inequalities. The review was also asked to show how this evidence can be turned into practice and to advise on possible objectives and measures that will build on the experience of the current PSA target on infant mortality and life expectancy.

Change4Life   A nationwide movement designed to help people make changes to their lifestyles, so that they can eat well, move more and live longer.  Joining Change4Life can help you promote the campaign's important messages through your own activities and what you already do.

Skilled for Health (SfH)   This is the national programme that helps embeds Skills for Life learning into health improvement topics. It aims to address both the low skills and health inequalities that are prevalent within traditionally disadvantaged communities.
