Hi there, for a long time we've been talking within the Pyramid community about being able to share ideas for things to do at clubs - what works and what doesn't, where to get materials, how to adapt activities for different age group or abilities etc. Well, now we have the opportunity to do that! In addition to the Pyramid activity packs that club leaders should have access to, I've just posted some additional activities on the open Pyramid section of the ContinYou website so that any club leader can access them. This is your opportunity to add to those, suggest improvements, or ask for ideas on particular topics etc. Your activities can be games, crafts, cookery, circle time or other typical Pyramid activities, so be as creative as you like! Looking forward to a host of new ideas to try out. Please remember to share them here on this Learning Exchange forum. Bronach |

I thought that members who are involved in Pyramid would be interested in this - that is, if you haven't already seen it. Evidence-based research by Play Therapy UK (PTUK) into the beneficial effects of play therapy on children’s well-being shows that between 74 per cent and 83 per cent of children receiving play therapy from PTUK Members experience positive changes. Up to now, there has been little quantifiable data proving that play therapy works, but the evidence-based outcomes in this big study have been demonstrated to be replicable since 2008 and are being used to justify funding on play therapy services. Here is the research report: An Effective Way of Promoting Children’s Wellbeing and Alleviating Emotional, Behavioural and Mental Health Problems - the Latest Research |
